Once again a very successful and enjoyable weekend was had by all. Big thanks to Lee and Al for organising it and to all those who drove.
Great to see the Belfast boys again and what a lovely gesture it was for them to donate that wonderful prize of a round of golf and overnight stay for 2 in Belfast which was won by BigBird himself, it looks like Jimbo has been ruled out of the 2nd spot for that due to comments from Nadia on Facebook asking for him not to leave her side for the next 10 years so Lee get your bags packed.
The overall winner and a popular one at that was young Joe from Belfast, well done Joe because at 2.45am your chances of waking up let alone playing golf in 6 hours were looking slim.
The Par 3 daily competitions were won by Arfur, Stefano and Mark the stunt buggy driver from Belfast.
Hope to see you all again next year, for the very first BigBird European Tour. Dates and prices to follow as soon as possible and names and deposits required.
Swindle Weekender 11th & 12th May
With late call offs, we were reduced to 34 players with the introduction of a 4th Crosswell, Aedan son of Bird, rose to the occasion and only finished a couple of points behind some of the other more accomplished pissheads. Young Aedan actually turned out to be a Godsend as within 10 minutes of returning to the lodges after the first days play, he was trained as a fully accomplished barman and kept our hands full with bottles or cans and even delivered a few shots later in the evening.
Congratulations to Phil Wright for becoming the 2nd Freebie awayday winner, well played to all and as you can see it was very close at the end.
A big thank you to you all for the whip round for myself and Lee but although appreciated very much it's really not necessary as we have just a good a time as you do, probably better as we sit on the sofa about 5am discussing the states some of you lot get in to.
See you all over the next year and here's to a succesful BigBird Freebie Three.

Swindle Away Trip 2014 The Lakeside Lodge
Gents, we are now booked up for the away trip 2014. The dates are 11th & 12th May 2014 and the venue is The Lakeside Lodge, Pidley, Huntingdon.
The deal is for 2 rounds on the Lodge Course, Hotel, Evening Meal and Breakfast. As always we should have enough in the kitty to allow for the drinks to be included. I believe the venue also contains a 10 pin bowling alley which must lend itself well to a good drinking game... also an opportunity for Geoff 'THE STRIKE' Pilgrim 1989 Eastern Area 10 Pin Bowling Champ to show off his skills.
Tee times are from 12:36 on the Sunday and from 10:04 on the Monday.
Nearer the time we will sort travel arrangements and the rooming list.
If anyone can help with a transit van for the clubs that would be great if not we will have to hire one out of then kitty. (Steptoe, aka Brooksie senior has volunteered his van and driving skills, hopefully Mr. Steptoe and Hercules the horse will make it in time for the first Tee off)
