Back to Lincolnshire, Skeggy on the Saturday and Boston West on the Sunday and Monday. More to follow.
Another brilliant weekend enjoyed by all, 2 great courses played, Boston West and Northshore Skegness. Once again the pre golf night out in Skegness went without incident if we disregard Carts locked outside the hotel at 4.30am in his pants having thought it better to pee up the wall outside rather than use the toilet in his room, only 2 sleepers this year, Steve (both nights) and Jimbo.
2 people won the blind pairs Comp at Boston, Probably Ray and somebody, Steve somehow took Day 1 prize and Stato Day 2, nearest pin on day 1 was the mighty G Spot (the only hole we didn't have to search for it) and Manner took NP in 2 on 18 on the Monday. Tommy Houchin took the order of merit for the year (see order of merit tab).
The weekend winner and runner up was Troy Blackwell and Kevin Carter, both with 68 points, Troy winning on back 9 countback.
Gentleman, this years trip is now arranged and we are staying a bit nearer home. We are playing and staying at the Sprowston Manor Resort and the dates are the 14th & 15th May 2017. I hope that is ok with everyone, any problems then please let me know.
The tee times are 12:24 on the Sunday and 10:00 on the Monday. It will be the same set up as previous years, evening meal and breakfast included, probably meet for breakfast somewhere en route and as always all the pop is included.
For those who pay regularly well done again, for those who don't, I will need payment in full by the end of February, that is £156.
Cheers then, Lee
Guys, I have now booked this years swindle trip. We are going slightly further away as I have booked Forest Pines in Lincolnshire. By all accounts the courses here are very good. It is booked for the 26th and 27th June and we have a 2pm tee time on the Sunday with a 10am on the Monday.
I now need definite numbers from those attending. I have provisionally booked 16 rooms. Those who pay online are all taken care of but for those who have paid nothing so far, could you please pay a £100 deposit by the end of January.
I have a feeling some might want to travel on the Saturday and have a game en-route, Skegness' North Shore suits well for this but after we have the main numbers we can look into this. Obviously this would be a extra cost.
Cheers then, Lee
The addition of the Irish boys has spiced up the The BigBird for the last 3 years and with the extra rivalry creeping in each year the competition is going from strength to strength. Congratulations to Brendan Carlin on his 2nd victory in 3 years with another 3 rounds of consistant golf. It's off to Irish soil next year to try and reclaim the trophy and I'm sure we'll have another great time with our friends from across the Irish Pond
